Fraud is a scary thing and in our industry we hear about it daily. Whether it is e-mail hacking or wire fraud, it is out there and we are doing everything we can to protect ourselves and you.

To protect yourself watch for the following items when you receive an e-mail, even if it is from a trusted contact.

  • Different font sizes and styles.
  • Spelling errors.
  • Poor grammar.
  • Suspicious links or attachments.
  • Asking for personal information or information the sender should already have.
  • Urgent or threatening language.
  • Vague e-mail signature.

If something does not seem right, delete the e-mail immediately. If it is from a trusted contact, pick up the phone and call them to verify they sent you the e-mail.

Please know that DCA Title does not accept or request changes to wiring instructions. Always call a trusted phone number to verify information prior to sending your funds. You can never be too cautious when it comes to these matters and everyone appreciates the verification.
